
Jane Hartley
Jane Hartley served as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland from May 2022 to January 2025. During her historic posting, England saw two monarchs and four prime ministers.
She is only the second woman to be U.S. ambassador to the U.K. in an almost 230-year diplomatic history between the two countries.
She was also Ambassador to the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco from 2014-2017. The President of France awarded her the Legion of Honor by for her work in counterterrorism. She served at the White House during the Carter Administration.
Jane Hartley was Chief Executive Officer and founder of Observatory Group, an international economic and political advisory firm. Earlier, she was Chief Executive Officer of the G7 Group, a premier research firm providing macroeconomic and political analysis to global clients.
Hartley served as a member of the Visiting Committee of the Kennedy School at Harvard University, as well as the Executive Committee and the Dean’s Council of the Kennedy School. She was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Sesame Workshop (Sesame Street), and has been a member of numerous philanthropic boards. Jane also serves on the Board of directors for Carnegie Endowment for World Peace.
She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
